Monica Whyte - Lib Dem GLA candidate for Enfield & Haringey - has thanked people across Enfield and Haringey constituency for an "encouraging" performance in the London Assembly election held on Thursday 1st May, after the party picked up nearly 4,000 more votes than received in the 2004 London elections.

Cllr Whyte commented, "After a hard-fought campaign in which we worked to win, I am pleased that the people of Enfield and Haringey have given us another encouraging result from which to build in the future, where we managed to top the poll in Hornsey and Wood Green parliamentary constituency and to increase our vote overall."

"My thanks go out to both the many thousands of residents who had confidence in me to be their Assembly member and to those who supported me in my campaign - and I look forward to continuing to work for local people in the future."
